Last night we had our first meeting to review and rehearse the pilot for a fresh new comedy series in the making!  The series is mostly in “stealth mode” for the most part but now that an official team has been formed, it won’t be long until the pilot goes live!  Right now we are banging out the rough edges on the pilot and it is being revised to cater to the voice-actors on the team.  The purpose is mostly for the pure fun of it– however –keeping in mind that money may eventually be made on this series, there may be copyright issues concerning the character presentation which is the main challenge at this point.  Although the formula for our episodes and the character development is taking off rather quickly, we are still trying to get our heads around how we will be producing the actual show.  Stop-motion Legos?  Will that become a copyright issue?  How much of the pieces must we change for this to not be an issue?  If we have an animator join our team, then we could revise enough of the visual structure that we could avoid copyright issues.  What about computerized animation?  Too difficult?  This would be ideal, second to using actual Legos.  And the name?  We’ve already been entertaining a nice list of alternatives, although using “Legoville” is also ideal.  After this episode has been revised, we will be meeting again to rehearse the new script– then, we should be ready for the voice-recording.  I’m excited about what our theme song will be like and how to orchestrate the credits, as well.  Over-all, there are a few issues at hand but the project, in general, is going to be a blast and there is always a solution to these unexpected bricks in the pegs.  Get it?  Bricks?  Ba-boom! Pishhh!
